This seems to be the best value for the money. Although Amazon Drive isn’t at the forefront of Amazon’s products, the company has done an excellent job in designing its cloud storage apps. SyncBackPro took me to one-time Amazon authentication page, a key was exchanged, and that was it, with the least amount of interaction possible.Īmazon Cloud Drive "everything" costs $59.99 per year and according to customer support accepts up to 200 terabytes under this plan. I merely started an "everything" account for Amazon Cloud Drive. I like the "mirror" feature which will delete from and add to the destination as necessary to match the source. SyncBackPro has excellent accountability over files processed with a good visual representation and good logging. It is a bit slow initiating upload on a file by file basis, but once it begins processing a file it goes at the limit of the connection. This is different from their Amazon S3 and Amazon Glacier interfaces. SyncBackPro recently implemented an Amazon Cloud Drive interface. There is a web interface and PC application, neither of which work very well except to do a one-time placement onto the server. I would say they actually do care about customers, but this was just my experience. An excellent solution became available for Amazon Cloud Drive that works wonderfully! The interface to Amazon Cloud Drive, provided by Amazon, leaves much to be desired. I talked with support and they were able to hook me up with a complimentary year of Prime (per my request) which makes me feel a bit better. Consumers like us are nothing.Įdit: After days and days of struggling with the app and web interface's limits I finally got my Drive and Photos files downloaded. I mean they have known about this issue for years if I am to believe the stories of others. Companies this large I assume don't listen and don't care. But that would be a novel, and it would be no help. I could continue to rant here about how a company with so much growth, with so much reinvestment, that is a key player in providing servers, could fail so miserably at delivering data. No matter what, eventually the application will find a way to crash. But I also have to be sure to go to another tab as soon as it returns to the download screen or else freeze-crash. If it stalls and doesn't download I've sometimes (but not consistently) been able to tab over to Download, quickly click the "Download." button (before the download tab freezes) and re-add a single subfolder to trigger the queue to process. I've learned not to keep the Download tab open for longer than a second or the app will hang. So, what tricks do you have to get the amazon cloud drive to download files without crashing or stalling? Plus, (and this is just ranting) this poorly designed application eats up 25% of my GTX 1660 on the "Home" tab (according to task manager)! It crashes constantly, it stalls, and it simply freezes. It seems this is the reason my application doesn't work, or so I assume from my experience and the experiences I've read. But you’ll still be able to keep your images and videos on Amazon Photos. I, like many of you, have a lot of files in storage. Amazon Drive, the company’s cloud storage offering, is shutting down on December 31st, 2023.
